It is your donations that make this program possible. Have a look at our graph showing the number of cats we together as a caring community have already desexed. The kittens we have prevented due to our desexing numbers is mind blowing. That is a number in the thousands of thousands.
Our local animal welfare systems have been supported from this program, yet we still have a lot of work to do. Being able to offer low cost and free desexing supports everyone. It is the kindest most humane answer to controlling cat populations in Geelong. Desexing prevents life and yet it saves lives.
Every single cat that we can desex has an outsize effect on the population of unwanted cats and cat pregnancies in the Geelong area – with a corresponding reduction in the impact on the environment and the people in the organisations that pick up the pieces.
Our small team have all worked in Animal Welfare. With cats we know firsthand the problems organisations face. We simply cannot keep servicing a problem when an answer is so clear. Desexing makes a huge difference. Our goal is to see Geelong be the best managed cat community in the country by growing this program and increasing desexing & health support to more cats. Every cat in our community should have access to desexing procedures.
